Where there’s mountains full of trees, meadows carpeted in green, silent snow-fall, clear running streams.

I’m Jon “Montana Max” Pruett, a thirty-something IT manager based outside of Washington, DC. Used to be a Microsoft Web Developer and DBA back in the early 90’s, lot’s of experience with eCommerce and B2B sites before the fancy names caught on. Light commercial architect before that, working on retail and strip mall construction plans. Grease monkey in a motorcycle shop for a while, doing light repair stuff and hacking on older Japanese bikes and the occasional 70’s Triumph or Guzzi. Can also use a hammer to hit my thumb with amazing force and precision. Big fan of Heinlein and Scalzi, but haven’t had occasion to deliver a baby or conn a ship yet – and my bacon urges have not hit critical mass.

DIY Music

Making music is much more fun when you make the instruments too. It’s not difficult to get some great sounding equipment either!

Freelance Web Consulting

I have done a solid job of website coding as a part time gig in the past. Right now I’m not looking for any additional software work. I have focused mostly on Wordpress related projects such as ecommerce and commercial website construction, blog theme creation, and plug-in development. While I have worked with many different technologies, I have decided to limit myself to a few projects at a time and concentrate on ones I find personally interesting and rewarding. This keeps things fresh and interesting for me and prevents my side work from feeling like a second full-time job.

I enjoy working in collaboration with web designers and following a site design example from clients as the creative side of visual design isn’t the strongest skill I bring to projects. Check out my portfolio and drop me an email if you have a project you could use some help with. Even if I’m not in a position to take on your project, I’m happy to provide advice and recommendations to people who can.
